What’s involved in finishing a basement?
There are a lot of steps involved in finishing a basement. You don’t have to do them all at once, if your budget is tight, though doing them at the same time will make your basement more functional faster! These are the steps of finishing a basement: • Quote • Design • Getting permits and inspections • Setting a start date • Delivering materials to your home • Demolition (in some cases) • Framing • Electrical and plumbing rough-ins • Drywall and taping • Flooring • Tiling • Painting • Installing kitchen (if applicable) • Adding fixtures and accents • Final inspection
How long will it take to finish my basement?
Once we get started, we don’t like to waste time. On average, expect it to take about 3-4 weeks for an average size basement of 700 square feet. Larger basements will take longer, while smaller basements could be finished in about 12–15 business days. Your specific timeline will depend on the scope of your project and will be discussed before we begin working on it. We’re known for three-week and four-week basement finishing because we know that once you start your project, you want it to be over as quickly as possible!
How much does it cost to get a finished basement?
Again, it’s hard to say how much your basement finishing project will cost until we see it first-hand. It can cost anywhere from $15,000 to over $100,000 depending on what you need done and what materials you want to use.
